Pumpkin Tart with A Cup of Pumpkin Drinks

Hello and good morning, everyone. Yesterday night, I have my pumpkin dessert and drink which are pumpkin tart and pumpkin drinks. To make this dessert, there are many processes need to go through such as making pastry shell, pumpkin jam, and pickling pumpkin slices. Of course, pumpkin is the most important ingredient for making this dessert. What is the type of pumpkin I using? For this recipe, I will use butternut pumpkin or butternut squash which has the longest storage (3 months) potential of all squash varieties. The longer it stored, the sweeter and nuttier the flavor becomes. 


Let talk about my tart. My tart shell's recipe is found from the network with doing some modification on it. For example, cut down the amount of ingredient and also its baking temperature. There is some burn on the tart with just a few minutes late taking out from the oven. At here, I advise you taking care of your tart as baking. Don't leave it there, and busy with other matter.

My recipe:



Tool used:
Oven, bladder, bowl, tart tin, pan, mug

Ingredients:

Pastry shell part:
1/2 cup (120 g) butter
1/4 cup (50 g) sugar
1 egg
1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla
1 3/4 cups (210 g) flour
1/2 tsp (2.5 g) salt

Pumpkin part:
Upper part pumpkin
1/4 cup sugar

Pumpkin puree part:
Bottom part pumpkin
Water (amount self-depending)

Pumpkin jam part:
1 cup pumpkin puree
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp pumpkin spice
2 tbsp gelatin

Pumpkin Tart:
Tart crust, pumpkin jam, pumpkin slice. egg yolk

Pumpkin drinks:
Pumpkin puree, milk (or soy milk, or sugar)

Methods:

Pastry shell part:
For the crust, whisk together the flour and salt and set aside.
Beat together butter and sugar until fluffy for 5 minutes.
Then, add vanilla and egg, beat to combine for another 5 minutes.
Next, slowly add flour mixture until well combined.
Wrap tightly in wax paper or plastic and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Roll out dough followed by placing it into the tart tin, and then, trim edged around the tin.
Prick bottom of tart with a folk.
After that, place the tart tin in the freezer for 10 minutes.
Preheat oven at 170 Celcius, and then, bake the shell for 10 minutes.

Pumpkin topping part:
Peel the pumpkin and cut into half, upper and bottom parts.
Then, cut the upper part of pumpkin from its top into a half.
Slice it into semi-circle pieces.
Pickle it with sugar for 20 minutes.
Drain the liquid which comes out from the slices.

Pumpkin puree part:
Cut the bottom part of the pumpkin into large pieces.
Roast the bottom part of the pumpkin for 20 minutes at 200 Celcius.
Let it cool down for a few minutes, and then, blade it with a few of water.

Pumpkin jam part:
Get puree from preview part.
Add sugar, pumpkin spice to the puree and boil with a pan.
Then, add in gelatin powder until it dissolves.
Let it cool down for a few minutes.


After all of the processed ingredients are already prepared, you can start making pumpkin tart and drinks as the method below.

Pumpkin tart:
Spread pumpkin jam on the tart's crust.
Then, arrange the pumpkin slices on the tart's crust.
Spread egg yolk on the side of the tart.
Bake it at 200 Celcius until the side of the tart turns golden brown around 10 minutes.

Pumpkin drinks:
Fill the mug with 3/4 full of pumpkin puree.
Add milk to it, then you can serve.
