Brown Rice . 糙米
As you all know, rice is the main food for Asian people. We eat
rice every day. So, how we eat healthy from rice? Today, I'm going to share you
all one healthy ingredient which is brown rice. What is brown rice? Why is
brown rice?
What is brown rice?
Brown rice is the
whole grain rice removes only the outer layer hull. Brown rice has a mild,
nutty flavor and is chewier and more nutritious than white rice.
Why is brown rice?
Brown rice is
produced by removing the outer hull of the rice and this causes the least
damaging to the nutritional value of the rice compare to white rice. Brown rice
has more 67% vitamin B3, 80% vitamin B1, 90% vitamin B6, 50% manganese, 50%
phosphorus, 60% iron than white rice. The aleurone layer of the grain of brown
rice is filled with health-supportive, essential fats which highly susceptible
to oxidation as exposed to air by the refining process. This layer is removed
to let the rice last longer. So, the removed aleurone layer white rice is just
a refined starch that is largely bereft of its original nutrients. Besides
that, brown rice also is the excellent source of selenium, copper, magnesium
and niacin.
My recipe for the
brown rice:
Tool used:
Rice cooker or
non-stick pan
Ingredients:
Brown rice, dry
mushroom, seaweed
Salt, black pepper,
and star anise or cinnamon
Water
For the rice
cooker, adds all ingredients together and the amount of salt and pepper used
depends on yourself. Then cook it.
For the non-stick
pan, adds mushroom, seaweed on the pan and cooks it for a few minutes. Then,
adds star anise into and cooks until the smell of star anise coming out. Now,
adds the washed brown rice into pan fried it with seasoning salt and black
pepper. Later adding water to the pan and cooks until the rice ready to serve.
Note: adding more water if no enough.
Enjoy!
